3D Ultrasonic Technology Is Acknowledged by China’s First Official AIS Prevention and Intervention Guide in Traditional Chinese Medicine
The 3D ultrasonic technology is acknowledged as an accurate and radiation-free assessment method of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) by China’s first official AIS prevention and intervention guide in traditional Chinese medicine.
The guide was recently issued by China Association of Chinese Medicine, recommending 3D ultrasonic imaging based upon high quality evidence. This pioneering technology, owned by Telefield Medical Imaging, evaluates scoliosis by measuring the ultrasound curve angle (UCA), which has very good correlations and agreement with the Cobb angle on X-ray images. It effectively reduces the usage of radiation during AIS screening and follow-ups.
